Residential elevation drawings illustrating external design changes

Elevation plans

Elevation plans show the external appearance of a property and are a key requirement for many planning applications. They illustrate how a building looks from the outside, clearly setting out height, proportions, openings and materials, and allow proposals to be properly assessed by planners and neighbours.

At HOBBS ARC, we prepare clear and accurate elevation plans for residential projects, including existing and proposed drawings. We regularly produce elevations to support window replacement planning applications, particularly where properties are in conservation areas or subject to planning controls. In these cases, drawings help demonstrate how new windows will sit within the existing façade and whether their appearance is in keeping with the character of the building.

All elevation plans are produced to a consistent standard and tailored to the specific requirements of the project, making them suitable for planning submissions, design development and construction use.

Elevation plans for planning applications

Elevation plans are often required as part of a planning application to show how proposed works will affect the external appearance of a property. They allow planning officers to clearly compare existing and proposed elevations and assess the visual impact of the changes.

We regularly prepare elevation plans to support planning applications for window replacements, extensions and other external alterations. Drawings are produced to the appropriate scale and level of detail to meet local authority requirements, helping applications progress smoothly through the planning process.
